At Body of Work Holistic our intention is to redefine what it means to learn and live holistically. We value radical self-love, compassion & empathy, interconnectedness, intersectionality, decolonization and collective liberation.
We develop courses, workshops and curricula for leaders and learners of all ages. Whether it’s a yoga class for toddlers, an art course for teens or a self-love workshop for adults, we center our offerings around radical transformation. Our learning material is structured from a decolonized framework, with the objective of unlearning Eurocentrism and relearning from global, indigenized perspectives. We incorporate elements of history, creative expression, nature, movement, mindfulness, and self-exploration into our work.
We facilitate conscious conversations with leaders and community members who have backgrounds in education, parenting, holistic/somatic healing, the arts, activism, and movement.
Collaboration is key when it comes to collective learning, healing and liberation. We are always interested in connecting with individuals and organizations who are doing similar work in the field of education, the arts, and holistic wellness. We want to highlight what you’re doing, learn from one another, and potentially work together.

Maky is a Queer woman of Western European descent who was born on Acjachemen land in front of the Pacific Ocean. energy
exchange
People have exchanged services, goods and energy for millenia. Today, money is the most common form of energy exchange. Systemic oppression and disparities in wages continue to create imbalances within society. For this reason we have decided to offer pricing for all of our services on a sliding scale. Through our holistic energy exchange model, we offer high-quality services at equitable rates.
We ask that each individual or organization assess the questions on the following page to decide which payment tier best fits their situation. The tier you select in no way influences the service you receive, all tiers receive the exact same material.
Are you or your family homeowners or landowners?
Do you frequently have good health and almost never experience chronic health needs or disabilities that have financial implications?
Have you attended private education institutions or do you have an advanced degree? Do you have zero to no debt and/or do you have disposable income?
Do you have investments, savings and/or inherited money?
Do you choose to go out to eat/drink regularly? Travel recreationally?
Do you have earning power due to your racial privilege, class background, level of education, gender identity privilege, age, ability etc. ?
Answers mostly yes = Tier 3
Some yes, some no = Tier 2
Mostly no = Tier 1

visualize
a world where...
We accept that we are enough - by simply existing, we are worthy
Where authentic empathy is the foundation of all relationships
Where youth are held in high regard and their creative expression is nurtured
Where people recognize their inherent connection to all living beings
Where we are in tune with our own complex identities and we recognize, accept and celebrate our differences
Where indigenous wisdom and knowledge is centered and nature is honored
Where Black Trans Women can walk to all corners of the earth and be safe AND celebrated
For this world to ever come to fruition we need more than diversity, equity and inclusion movements. We need more than the golden rule and anti-racism book clubs. We must move beyond teaching ourselves and our children that being a “good person” is enough to make the world a better place.
We need radical transformation from the inside out. This transformation requires introspection, commitment, and effort. Systemic change must go hand-in-hand with inner child and intergenerational trauma healing. Abolition of all systems that perpetuate oppression and hierarchy is vital. We will need to move past land acknowledgment and toward land sovereignty for all indigenous people. We can choose to exalt ancestral knowledge as we listen to and learn from those with lived experience.
Systemic change will hinge on holistic investigations of the past and how it continues to impact our present world. Unlearning, relearning and restitution will be essential for true liberation to ever exist. It will be necessary for society to dissect its relationship to Whiteness and anti-Black racism. It will call for nurturing a deep sense of self, intuition and spirituality. Systemic change will take sacrifice, and at times, discomfort for those with the most privileges. A liberated future beckons us to listen with compassion and to choose love over and over again; to honor nature and the abundance this earth provides. Time for rest and solitude will be as indispensable as time for community and action - acknowledging joy and suffering on the path towards collective liberation by whatever means necessary.
The revolution will not be televised and it will not be passive. With this understanding, we are committed to our role as learners & leaders working towards a world that is safe and pleasurable for all living beings.
